Simple Syrup is a clear, pale yellow, viscous liquid formulated to assist compounding pharmacists in the preparation of oral extemporaneous dosage forms.

Simple Syrup contains purified water, sucrose, sodium phosphate; and potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, methylparaben sodium, propylparaben sodium as preservatives.
Simple Syrup may be used alone or as a flavored syrup vehicle. Simple Syrup may be diluted to desired taste or thickness with water or other aqueous solutions. Simple Syrup is also designed to complement the use of any suitable Suspending Vehicle. As such, it is flavored and buffered to be added to a pre-formed suspension and diluted in approximately 50-50 concentrations.
Simple Syrup may be used alone as a sweetening agent to flavour aqueous solutions or as a base for flavoured and medicated syrups. Simple Syrup may be diluted to desired taste with water or other aqueous solutions.
Store in original container, tightly sealed, protected from direct sunlight, in a dry and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials. Store in accordance with local regulations. Eliminate all ignition sources. Separate from oxidizing materials. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabelled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Store below 25°C.
